04・16の質問ーKei Nishioriのリストの

The Kei Nishikori Word List is where you can study up for today's question. The Vocab YouTube clip above will help too. The story linked at the top of the Word List PDF where I got all the words from is a good read also.
To the question:

「障壁、障害、妨げ」の意味で使われている文はどれですか?

a:After the player was beaten in straight sets, he was bereft of any hope for his future.
b:The umpire barked at the player, telling him to speed up his game.
c:The games at the tournament turned out much drearier than previous years.
d:Returning a good first serve is a barrier to winning competitions.
